VIDEO: Bill Simmons Predicts Playoffs, Jalen Rose Disagrees In Grantland Preview

Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose have been previewing every NBA team from one to 30 over at Grantland and today, they turn their attention to the Trail Blazers at No. 16.

There’s plenty to digest in the 10 minutes preview, but the major takeaway is that Simmons, who has been bullish on the Trail Blazers this offseason, predicts that Portland returns to the playoffs in 2014, while Rose thinks they miss the playoffs yet again. Rose’s doesn’t think the Trail Blazers will be able to defend the paint, which was an issue all of last season, and predicts that the Minnesota Timberwolves will make the post-season instead. Rose also says LaMarcus Aldridge’s “mannerism” remind him of Rasheed Wallace (which he meant as a compliment) and he calls Meyers Leonard “Miles”, so, you know.

Simmons also declares that CJ McCollum is going to work for Grantland one day (maybe sooner than later consider the free time CJ is going to have while he rehabs his broken left foot), says that Neil Olshey is going to win GM of the Year, once again talks-up Thomas Robinson and makes a lobster tempura dinner bet with Rose. Good work as always from the folks at Grantland.
