First Look: The Nicolas Batum Drinking Glass

After tonight’s game against the Grizzlies at the Moda Center, everyone who has a ticket will receive one limited-edition Wesley Matthews drinking glass as they exit the building. The Trail Blazers have had a difficult time with the Grizzlies this season, losing the first two games by double digits, so maybe a Rip City glasses night is just what the team needs to turn the tide.

Some things you should know about tonight’s giveaway:

• For safety purposes the glasses are being handed out on egress only starting mid-way through the 4th quarter.

• Fans should prepare for long lines as they exit the building.

• There will be select exit doors available to fans that choose not to redeem a glass. Look for special exit signage.

• Once a fan redeems their glass they must exit Moda Center immediately and will not be re-admitted.

• Season Ticket Holders – for information on your additional guaranteed glass (one per account) login to

One more very important thing to remember: ONE GLASS PER FAN, as in, even if you have two tickets, you’ll only receive one glass. I’ve only heard a few complaints about the glass distribution process, which means the team must be doing a great job with it, as people LOVE to complain about getting free stuff.

And like we’ve done before all of the other giveaway nights, we’ve got a preview of the next glass, which features starting small forward Nicolas Batum. Check it out …

As you can see, the glass features a caricature of Batum in the middle of a behind-the-back pass (which sounds about right)  and his signature on the front with his height, hometown, birthday and when he was drafted on the back. The addition of “Batum-Shaka-Laka” with a drawing of the Eiffel Tower representing the middle “A” in “Shaka” is a nice touch.

The Batum drinking glass will be available at the game against the Golden State Warriors on April 13 at the Moda Center. The only way to get the glass is to buy a ticket and come to the game, which you can do here. That’s also the second-to-last game of the regular season that will undoubtedly have playoff implications, so there’s all kinds of reasons to show up for that one.

This is the final glass in the series, so expect full sets to be showing up on eBay the next day after the Batum glass giveaway. And just for reference, here’s the LaMarcus Aldridge glass, the Robin Lopez glass, the Damian Lillard glass and the Wesley Matthews glass.
